One Final Scare—Horrorcast

Once coworkers, always friendly competitors for the spotlight, Minki Kim and Tracy Mathews share their love of horror movies — and talking over each other — by retelling every gory detail of one horror film each week. Join these creatives by day, novice film critics by night, as they walk through one movie from start to finish with the hopes that listeners will come back...for one final scare.

EP 08: Dearest Sister (2016)

This is a pretty special episode. First, Tracy and Minki revel over the awesome fan videos that came in from the OFS tee-shirt contest (find them on our instagram and facebook feeds) and then Tracy gets stoked to talk about the first Lao female film director, Mattie Do, who just so happened to jump into the best genre of all...HORROR. This is her second film and the hosts enjoy retelling it, especially during Women In Horror Month. The movie separates itself from Japanese and Korean revenge horror, delivering a new angle to Asian ghost stories. Socioeconomic and cultural statements are made, giving us a little bit of insight into what its like in Laos, and you may be inspired to go play the lottery after watching it.
